New article in Nature Physics

Our article “Cavity-mediated long-range interactions in levitated optomechanicshas just been published in Nature Physics!

In this article we join forces with our experimental colleagues at ETHZ to experimentally demonstrate long-range coupling between the mechanical motion of two levitated nanospheres mediated by the mode of an optical cavity. Our theoretical model allowed to determine extract the system parameters from the cavity output spectrum and quantify the effective inter-particle coupling. Strong cavity-mediated coupling is a key step toward motional quantum entanglement or many-body physics with multi-particle ensembles. Looking forward to our next collaboration with the Jayadev Vijayan team @ Manchester and with the Novotny team @ ETHZ!
