Carlos finished his PhD at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2017. After six years as a Postdoc at University of Innsbruck, in October 2023 he moved to Vienna with a tenure-track assistant professorship.

Barbara Meese

PhD Student

Barbara studied Physics for her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Saarland University and later completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at LMU Munich. She joined the group in September 2025 and is currently working on new quantization methods for magnonic systems.

David has done his PhD with the group of Stefan Rotter, where he has acquired expertise in, among others, electrodynamics in time-varying media. He is currently a guest student in our team, helping us explore this concept in magnetic systems

Bernard graduated with a Master's in Physics at the University of Zagreb. He joined the group in March 2026 and is currently working on quantum optomechanics of ion-particle systems in electrical traps.
