New article in Phys. Rev. A

Our manuscript “Collectively enhanced ground-state cooling in subwavelength atomic arrays” has been published in Phys. Rev. A! We explore the impact of strong dipole-dipole interactions in atom arrays on the process of sideband-cooling their motional degrees of freedom. Surprisingly, we find that interactions can enhance the cooling of the atom array. This work was the result of a great and very stimulating collaboration between our group and the teams of Susanne Yelin (Harvard University), Ana Asenjo-Garcia (Columbia University), Helmut Ritsch (University of Innsbruck) and Oriol Romero-Isart (ICFO).
